Be True to Life by Being True to Your Inner Purpose
Dear Friends,
On July 7th, the Month of the Water Goat begins. The season of Fire has reached its peak, and the intensity begins to soften as Yang begins to yield to Yin and the Fire Qi begins to enter a more dormant state within the Goat.
While the collective continues to experience challenges and deep life transitions, I’ve noticed a shift within myself and see this reflected in my students and clients. A realization is emerging that we are not just the accumulated stories of our past or the projections of the future. There is an awakening that beneath the surface of our stories, thoughts and emotions, that there is an awareness emerging of our true self – consciousness itself.
What once used to motivate me no longer lands in the way. I question my old patterns and what I used to do on auto pilot. There’s more of a pause and deeper breath between activities and “the doing”. While the world continues to provide ample reasons to feel anxious or afraid, I find myself grounding in a sense of stillness that has always been there but ignored.
In recent weeks, I’ve been reminded that time stands still for no one – not for you or me. The sun still rises and sets, the moon waxes and wanes, and the cycles of birth and death continue. We are all at its mercy and effect. Or are we? While we cannot change the patterns of time, we can learn to work with it.
We are beings of consciousness. We have the ability to use our consciousness to align with the flow of time and to use it to our advantage. In fact, I believe that’s why we are here: to awaken and learn how to use ‘energy’ to support ourselves to live with purpose. We are beings of energy who attract, emit, respond, and choose to align ourselves with nature, forces of growth, love and like-minded people.
I am deeply grateful for the tools of BaZi (Chinese Astrology) and Classical Feng Shui. Our BaZi natal charts are the blueprints of our soul’s journey and used to reveal the archetype for growth in this lifetime. Together they show how we are meant to evolve, and transform through our luck cycles. What is the meaning and purpose of life? Our inner purpose is to awaken. Our outer purpose is how to use our inner purpose best.
There is an ancient saying “BaZi is diagnosis, Feng Shui is remedy.”
This month, I invite you to join us in the Living with Purpose Membership group. Each month I share deeper insight to all the above along with best practices and seasonal Feng Shui activations, to support you.
The Water Goat month begins on July 7th. The imagery is that of a hot dry desert, a landscape that is scorched with soil that holds potential but needs activation (water). Your untapped potential is calling. To decide to consciously grow is a personal responsibility and choice. Notable people born on a Water Goat Day are the Dalai Lama, Martha Stewart and curiously Johnny Depp.
The Yi Jing Hexagram offers wisdom and guidance to lead us.
The hexagram of the Water Goat month is #47 Adversity / Trap. Its guidance is for us to manage adversity and difficulty.
- It is not the situation but what you think that matters. Do not let gloom take charge.
- One must give before expecting to receive. This applies to all realms – mental, material and spiritual.
- If you find yourself faced with adversity or overwhelm, you may have put your trust in the wrong things. It just means you need to realign and find your center and use things that will help you get there.
- Your own beliefs, attitude and character may be trapping you. Change from within brings forth a better you to move forward to start achieving results for a better life.
- You may encounter dilemmas and uncertainty. Meet them with patience and a positive attitude.

Unfortunately, the path to truth is not always graceful. Often it includes fear, neediness, co-dependency, anger and revisiting old wounds.. But everything happens to us for a reason. These are portals to heal. Trust me when I say: the opportunity for positive change has never been greater. Each day I remember to be grateful. I am grateful for all the wonderful clients and students who are willing to show up and willing to take action to change. I am grateful I am healthy and that my children are all healthy. I am grateful for all the support I have in my life.
And I am grateful for you.
Love & Light, Marlyna
