Greetings November! Welcome month of the Yi Hai / Wood Pig. Sink or Swim?
Hello my friends,
November 7th marks the transition into the season of Water with the arrival of the Wood Pig. On a spiritual level, the Wood Pig guides us in discovering and connecting with our higher purpose. This month holds significance on various levels as we enter the season of Water and the final three months in the Year of the Wood Dragon. The Wood Pig pillar represents Wood Sitting on Water and Wood, symbolized by the image of a lotus flower.
In Five Element Theory, water is associated with both Wisdom and Fear. Wisdom is essential to navigate through Fear. It is crucial to recognize that all energies are interconnected, and the change we seek must begin within ourselves. We are the change that is needed. Trust, compassion and kindness become our guides as we navigate these fearsome waters. Let us embrace the transformative power of this month, allowing it to wash away the old and bring in the new.

The wisdom of the I Ching adds further insight to this month. The hexagrams associated with this month are #35 Advancement and #2 Earth.
Hexagram #35, Advancement, also known as Progress, advises us that “A foundation without prejudice is the first step in how the weak progress. To regard all things as one is to be a companion of Nature.” Profound words indeed, as guidance for the day after an election with polarizing results for many.
Hexagram #2, Earth, holds its message hidd in six yin lines and advises us to take a supportive role, nurturing ourselves and others while contributing to the greater whole. This is not a time for aggression but rather an opportunity to release all that no longer serves us. Allowing this requires vulnerability and an openness to the unknown. If you are holding onto fear, let it go. With intention, open your heart to peace and new perspectives. Sometimes, things must fall apart for something new to be built. This is the cycle of life.
This month’s energies encourage forgiveness, letting go, and taking personal responsibility for our lives.
During these final months of the year, the purification process will continue to reveal areas where limiting beliefs hold us back and keep us stuck or playing small. Our goal is to live consciously and let go of what hinders us from creating a better life. For clarity on this transformative journey, you may want to consider attending one of our events or scheduling a personalized BaZi reading (noted below).
On a Feng Shui level, this is an ideal time for clutter clearing. Use this practice as a metaphor to rid your life of what no longer serves you energetically.
Do you choose Fear or Wisdom? Contemplate your higher purpose. Here’s a clue to help you: Spiritual purpose resides in our hearts, whereas fear originates from the ego and mind. I am reminded of a quote from Einstein that I cherish:
“If you BELIEVE the world is friendly, it is. If you BELIEVE the world is not friendly, it is.”
Choose your thoughts wisely; let us co-create a world of safety and peace for all.
Let us gracefully tread the waters of change with wisdom, compassion, and kindness.
Peace & Light, Marlyna
